Diversity is about understanding that each of us is different and respecting and celebrating those differences. Equality is about ensuring
that different groups are not disadvantaged.
The Equality
Act 2010 highlights protection for people who are most likely to be disadvantaged or
discriminated against by our society. It makes it illegal to discriminate on age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and race grounds. These are known as protected
characteristics.
We're committed to removing barriers that might restrict people and proactively work towards positive
change.
